The Chair Project
We took the opportunity of being involved in the Gen-All chair
project to reimagine our buddied reading space.
Nightingale Hammerson (NH) provided us with a discarded sofa
and promised us a welcoming corner in their reconfigured
entrance, and we got busy.
Our artistic children, staff and friends planned the transformation.
The sofa would be red, our grandfriend David’s favourite colour. It
would be covered with embroidered binca bookmarks that
everyone would make.
Our grandfriend and child puppets would be stuffed with (clean)
worn out clothing. It would be an ongoing project so that
everyone, no matter what age, could contribute and would be able
to find their own bookmark whenever they visited us. And, of
course, it would be washable!
The new reception hall isn’t ready yet, but we couldn’t wait so
here is the first iteration of our TOGETHER CORNER!
