SSOW 006 Loading a Barrow Generator
A safe system of work is a formal procedure which results from systematic examination of a task in
order to identify all the hazards. It defines safe methods to ensure that hazards are eliminated or
risks minimized.
Ensure Manual Handling training must have been completed before completing
this task and the appropriate PPE is being worn.
With the vehicle on level ground, push Raise tail lift stop brackets & position
generator up tail lift stop brackets on to yourself within easy reach of lift buttons
tail lift on the tail lift post
Raise tail lift to height of bed of vehicle Spin handles towards cab of vehicle,
manoeuvre central on to bed & secure
