After forty years, the tradition continues.
On February 11,2002, the Class of 2003
joined together at Saint Hugh Catholic
Church with family and friends to strengthen
their everlasting bond as women of the
Sacred Heart. During Ring Ceremony the
senior places the class ring on her ring
sister’s finger which symbolically represents
the transitions of the juniors into leadership
of the school. Since it was in the context of
a Mass, Father Vallee once again gave an
inspirational homily. On behalf of the Senior
Class, Nyshel Burke welcomed the juniors
and addressed the new found responsibility
that accompanies the ring. Alexandra
Alvarez, a junior, spoke on behalf of her
class and stressed how “together” they will
be as they were when they faced difficult
times and hard choices. There was a mixture
of feelings and smiles, and tears were a
common sight. All in all, Caritas Vincit
Omnia, (Love Conquers All)!
