On March 7,2002, Carrollton's Junior Class went on a retreat at Gold Coast Christian Camp to strengthen their individual relation
ships with God and to mend old friendships. Once they arrived, they settled into their cabins with them groups and began the
group ice breaker “Crazy Olympics”, which was very exciting and set the mood for the retreat. There were various speeches made I
by the senior retreat leaders who spoke about exploring one’s relationship with God; the leaders included Adriane Vega, Barbara
Thompson, Vanessa Rodriguez, Ashley Shnapier, Lourdes Rodriguez and Karla Valdivia. The girls opened up to their groups and j
even to the entire class. There was a very heart warming activity at night where the girls shared their thoughts, comments and
expressed their feelings. The night ended with girls dancing, singing and gathering in one cabin just to spend time with one
another. The next day after a game of musical chairs, Sister Cooke addressed the juniors. Her enlightening speech revealed to the I
girls the values of a Sacred Heart education and she reminded them that next year they will be the leaders and role models for the
entire school. Finally the retreat ended with everyone thanking God for their classmates, their teachers and the opportunities God |
has given them. As the buses departed the girls eagerly awaited their return to school, however, they took with them memories
                                                       that would last forever.
