The school's participation
is organized by the Junior
Nigh Ecology Club which also
began the same year under
the direction o f Mrs. Irmina
Rodriguez. Each year, student
volunteers visit one o f several
designated beach-side locations
for a day o f cleaning up. Not only
does the program tidy up our
beaches, but it raises awareness
in the community about the
importance o f recycling and
disposing o f trash properly,
while a clean beach is
aesthetically pleasing, the
most important part o f the
project is the protection
L o f wild life within
I hroughout the year, the Junior High participates in fundraisers and drives to benefit
several local communities including: Jackson Memorial Hospital, Coconut Grove Cares coastal habitats.
and Thelma Gibson House.
