Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart celebrates the papal visit to the United States with a schoolwide project

Inspired by Pope Francis' favorite painting, "Mary Undoer of Knots," the art and religion departments led a project where all community
members wrote special intentions on ribbons, which were tied onto netting. Throughout the week, the ribbons were individually untied and
the intentions were prayed for. Patricia Wiesen, High School an teacher designed the project based on the "Knotted Grotto" installation
outside the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia "Mary Undoer of Knots” (Johann Melchior Georg Schmittdner, 1700)
depicts Mary as the intermediary between heaven and earth, undoing our "knots of suffering by sending our prayers to God,
Pope Francis is the fourth pope to meet with a U.S. president and the seventh head of the Catholic Church to visit the United States,
Intermediate, Junior High and High'School students watched the Papal address to Congress on September 24.
tis special project pays homage to the Pope and his first visit to the United States and Cuba, and unifies the commun% in Christ's Heart.
