Ve International Baccalaureate Visual Art seniors conduct art projects with students at The Learning Experience (TLE). The school serves children and adults with
avelopmental disabilities. They participate in a variety o f hands-on projects including a mini workshop on Abstraction in watercolor and ink. Using black ink on a
;ush, every child makes a mark on the watercolor paper. The piece is a collaborative effort with each mark being added one at a time. Once dry, the groups decide
i a color scheme and paint it with watercolor. "I was hum bled by the love the TLE students shared with us. I feel like they gave us a great gift,” said Elizabeth
ardoves whose brother Johnnie attends the school. Mia Cayard said, "It was a transformative experience for me. I was initially nervous about working with these
jdents, and yet, I felt so happy Their joy was contagious."
