First Communion

For the first time on Saturday, February 24, 2001, the second graders received the Ftoly Eucharist at a
special Mass held at the Church of St. Hugh. Joining in celebrating the moment were the parents,
teachers, and members of the administration. The celebration culminated with a luncheon at El
Jardin for all the second graders. Mrs. Karen Ortiz, a religion teacher at the High School and mother
of second grader Jessica Ortiz, stated, “I am happy to have shared this experience with my daughter.”
