Extend your Tolerance Control:
When a task is easy (in our comfort zone), our brain thinks: ‘Yeah, you can do
it!’ and releases dopamine, one of the Feel Good Chemicals, into our body.
The nice feeling dopamine gives makes us want to do it even more
(which is why dopamine is called the motivator).
Even thinking about doing a task we feel good at (like cooking for
you) can release dopamine into our system.
When a task is difficult or boring, or if we are not
sure if the people around us like and care for us,
stress chemicals are released into our body. It can
give us an unpleasant feeling.
The trick is to train our brain to tolerate that unpleasant
feeling for longer and longer each time so in the end
we get great at finishing even long, boring tasks or noisy
places.
We call this great at being in the GROWTH ZONE.
