KEY MESSAGE 1 – we have various needs which have to be met well in
order to work and play at our best.
It is helpful to place these needs into different categories – it just makes it easier to
think about which are met well and not so well:
Within each category, we have identified six specific needs (see the cards in your
pack). In our experience, it is always one or more of these at play when a young
person presents with any type of unhelpful response to a situation.
