Task Initiation
SKILL RAG
I can estimate how long a task will take quite accurately.
I can start a job quickly, without putting it off and doing other
things instead e.g. I get on with my homework straight away and
put off going out or gaming until it is done.
I can be disciplined with myself, stopping something I am enjoying
e.g. gaming or playing outside, to get on with a job I need to get
finished.
I can priorities tasks appropriately and start the highest priority
tasks first, even if they are more challenging.
I can give myself a time limit or alarm to start a task and keep to it.
I can tolerate the unpleasant feeling of challenge, difficulty or lack
of interest to start a task I am not so keen on.
I can use chunking of a task to reduce overwhelm and make it feel
less daunting and easier to start.
I can use reminders, alarms, lists and daily and weekly schedules to
help me stay on track with tasks.
