Skills that support helpful (pro-social & pro-learning) Behaviours
FLEXIBILITY
MANAGING UNCERTAINTY & CHANGE
I am willing to do things in a different way than I am used to.
I will give new experiences a try and meet new people. I understand it may not feel completely comfortable at the start but will get easier
with time.
I manage and adapt ok when things change or do not happen as I was expecting.
I tolerate uncertainty and focus on what I can control.
I manage when something is not definite or is not clear cut / black and white.
EMOTIONAL FLEXIBILITY
When things go wrong, I react in a way that is about right for the size and seriousness of the issue.
When things are not as I would like, I can soothe myself quickly, look at the wider perspective and focus on positives and possible solutions.
PERSPECTIVE TAKING
I can shift my opinion when I hear more information and evidence.
I can see things from different perspectives and viewpoints.
COMPROMISE
I will do something I do not really want to do.
I can compromise a bit of what I want so that other people have some of their wishes too.
I am able to be flexible enough to follow an instruction or direction given by someone else – I can manage not being in charge.
SET SHIFTING
I can shift from one activity or topic to another easily.
PROBLEM SOLVING
I can think of different solutions to a problem, rather than getting fixed on one idea.
