Adaptation of the root hair to its function:
1- Large in number & protruding to the outside:
To increase the surface area of absorption.
2- Having thin walls:
To allow the passage of water and salts through them.
3- Secreting a viscous substance:
To help the hairs find their way among the soil particles, stick them &
fix the plant.
4- Sap vacuole solution is more concentrated than the soil solution:
To help water to pass from the soil to the root hair by osmosis.
