This competitive civil service nosition pays $15,750 a year. Applications will be accepted from April 2 through April 22.A Supervising Landm arks Preservation Specialist must be able to determine what an old building was like originally and how it can be restored. This involves working with community groups, conducting public hearings, and liaison with elected officials and city agencies on preservation of landmarks and historic districts. The specialist also form ulates regulations, standards, plans and programs for historic preservation in New York City.Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree with a major in architechture, civil engineering, architectural history, history of art, city planning, political science, sociology or a related field. They also ntajjt have four years of full-time paio*%u00abxperience in city planning, arcm^ieture, building restoration or pieservation of aged buildings, or arelated field, at least two years of which must be in building restoration or preservation and one year in a superivsory or administrative capacity.Community Relations Officer Timothy Cole at the 76th Precinct reported seven arrests this week. On Wednesday, March 20th at 5:15 pm Officer Snady Check apprehended a juvenile on Dean Street between Smith and Hoyt Streets and charged him with robbery. Also on the 20th, a youth was apprehended at 60 Nelson Street by Officer Wright Hockaday. He was charged with assualt and possession of Marijuana.On Thursday, March 21st at 1:15 am, Officer Roger Petitio arrested a suspect for attempted burglary on Pacific Street between Boerum Place and Smith Street. On the 22nd, at 1:45 am, Officer Laura McNally arrested a suspect on Van Dyke Street between Dwight andRichard Streets. He was charged with larceny. There were two arrests on Friday the 23rd, one for burglary and the other for robbery.The former occurred at Sedgwick Street between Van Brunt and Columbia at 4:30 am. Anthony Ciavarella was the arresting officer. The robbery arrest occurredat 10 pm at the corner of Clinton and Mill Streets. Matthew Triolo was the arresting officer.And on Saturday, March 24th.
