The garden is enclosed by a picket fence and at night the tall shady trees that lean over the fence are donned with tiny lights, and a haven is created where sounds there are none, save the rustle of the leaves and the trickle from the small stone fountain%u2014a welcomed decor. Joe%u2019s Place features Italian-American specialties including a variety of pasta and seafood dishes. The thirty room house, formerly a home for -young girls owned by the Norweigian Church is surrounded by a 12 foot high ornamental gate that is kept locked at all times. (One must be buzzed in and out.) There are many plants and flowers on both sides of the stone walk leading to the entrance and in the evening the gate head lights are turned on and the two fancy fountains are lit. Upon entering the villa, one must be reminded that he is still in Brooklyn and not in a garden in Spain. Although dinner is only served inside, you can sit and sip your aperitif in the lovely outdoors, and the garden is ideal for after dinner socializing.The cuisine is Italian and French and there is a different menu each night. On Wednesday and Thursday evenings, dinner is $10.50 and includes a Vermouth Aperatif, pasta course, main course and coffee. On Fridays there is always a seafood dish. Saturday dinners are $12.50 and include a Vermouth aperatif, pasta course, main course, salad, fruit, dessert and coffee.
