Sometimes, walking into asituation you dread or fear, and projectingconfidence by dressing smart, holdingyour head up, and looking people in theeye can make you feel more confident.But if you stay to yourself and hide in thecorner of the room, your image of yourselfisn%u2019t supporting your need to be resilient.A baseball team with a losing record stillstarts every game with a group cheer. Itdoesn%u2019t matter if they win or lose; theystart each game ready to do their best.Coaches teach resilience to their playersby focusing on the next gameopportunity, not on the games they%u2019velost.3. What success have I achieved?When facing an obstacle or going through toughtimes, reminding yourself of your past successeshelps build your resilience skills. The coach forthe losing baseball team might tell a player hebatted a double last week and suggest he can doit again. The pitcher might be reminded hethrew a strikeout. Building your resilience skillsrequires remembering that you haveaccomplished things in the past that could helpyou with your current situation.
