l Human Rights Education and Campaigns: NKDB conducts various educational
programs and campaigns to raise awareness about North Korean human rights issues.
l Through these activities, NKDB is dedicated to the continuous effort of improving human
rights in North Korea and works with the international community to protect and promote
the rights of North Korean citizens.
l 북한인권정보센터(NKDB)는 2003년에 설립된 비영리 단체로, 북한의 인권 상황을 조사하고 기록하는데 중점을 두고
있습니다. NKDB는 북한 내 인권 침해 사례를 체계적으로 수집하고 분석하며, 이를 바탕으로 국제 사회에 알리고 북한
인권 개선을 위한 다양한 활동을 펼치고 있습니다.

Sending 'rice bottles with USBs' to the North Korean people – '쌀 페트병'을 북으로 보내는 사람들

l Park Jung-oh, a North Korean
human rights activist and
defector, has been sending
plastic bottles filled with rice to
North Korea since 2015.
l In addition to rice, the plastic
bottles contain 1-dollar bills
and USB drives loaded with
South Korean dramas and
other foreign content. Sent
from the Seokmodo coast in
Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, which
is only about 10 kilometers away from North Korea in a straight line, the rice bottles reach
North Korea in just four hours with the ebb tide.
l The “rice bottle” project, which Mr. Park started after hearing that residents in Hwanghae
Province in North Korea were starving, has drawn attention from domestic and
international media.
