Introduction

The Most Unjust Place on Planet Earth

One North Korean defector’s testimony relayed the following
            story:

“The steamroller started up. The ultimatum was offered again:
Reject Jesus and live or refuse to deny Him and die. They
remained silent. They had made their choice. It was clear that
they would rather die than deny the wonderful name of Jesus
Christ. The steamroller began to roll toward the pastor, the
assistant pastors, and the elders and drove over their bodies.
They were immediately crushed to death. Onlookers said
that they could hear the sound of the skulls popping as the
steamroller ran over their heads. Some of the Christians who
knew the pastor fainted when they saw the crushed bodies.”

Contrary to the notion that human rights should be sidelined
in order to prioritize security issues, both should be addressed
together in a sustained way in order to solve either or both.
Put another way, addressing them together increases the
chances of solving either one. President Reagan did so with
respect to the Soviet Union, and it worked brilliantly.

In order for trilateral security cooperation to work, South
Korea should not resuscitate already resolved past grievances,
as the previous South Korean administration under President
Moon Jae-In did regarding the General Security of Military
Information Agreement (GSOMIA), for example. On
