Short-Term and Long-Term Disability


The Hartford Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability plans can pay a percentage of your income for the time you
are unable to work because of illness or injury. There is no cost to you for the short-term and core long-term disability
plans. You can buy additional long-term coverage for even greater peace of mind.


Short-Term Disability (STD) Long-Term Disability (LTD)
At no cost to you, this plan: Core Coverage


‹ Takes effect the first of the month following a 90-day If your disability requires additional time away from work,

‹ Replaces all or a portion of your pay for up to 12 ‹ Takes effect the first of the month following a 90-day

Up Coverage:

‹ Will cost you $0.46 per $100 of covered monthly
earnings per month
‹ Increases benefit to 66 2∕3% of your monthly base
earnings, up to a $15,000 monthly maximum

‹ Takes effect the first of the month following a 90-day
benefit waiting period
‹ Will be subject to medical evidence of insurability if
you enroll after you are initially eligible*; May include
pre-existing condition exclusions
