Benefit Eligibility
Are You Eligible? Children*
Employees Children must meet the following criteria for coverage:
If you are regularly scheduled to work at least 30 hours Medical coverage until age 26
per week, you are eligible for National General benefits. Dental, vision and life insurance until age 19 or until
age 24 if a full-time student at an accredited facility
Legal Spouse Critical Illness, Accident Insurance and Identity Theft
Your legal spouse is eligible for National General benefits. until age 26
A legal spouse may be covered during a legal separation. * Special provisions beyond these age limits may apply for incapacitated
A divorced spouse is not a qualified dependent under our dependent children
plans.
Qualifying Life Events
*Spousal Surcharge: If you elect National General The IRS defines the events that allow you to change your
medical coverage for your spouse and your spouse is coverage during the year. Examples include:

will pay a spousal surcharge of $69.23 per pay period in Marriage or divorce
