Disability Insurance
Short Term Disability
We provide eligible employees with a Short Term Disability (STD) benefit. The
benefit provides a source of income to replace 70% of your base pay in the event
you become disabled through either illness, injury or pregnancy and are unable
to perform your job for up to 26 weeks. You are automatically enrolled in this
benefit.
If you live in a state that has a statutory disability law (California, Hawaii, New
Jersey, New York or Rhode Island), your disability benefits may be reduced by any
statutory benefits payable.
Long Term Disability
Long Term Disability (LTD) protects your income by providing you with 60% of
your income if you are still disabled after 26 weeks. As a new hire, you will be
automatically enrolled in LTD insurance, and premiums will be paid by you. You
may elect to waive this coverage at any time.
By paying the premium yourself, any benefit you receive while disabled will not
be considered taxable income. Consider making this investment for the peace of
mind in knowing that you’ll be covered and receive this valuable tax-free benefit
should you become disabled.
Paid Leaves of Absence
Beyond disability coverage, additional paid leaves are available to you.
Parental Leave offers a fully paid 16-week leave of absence for new parents
who had a child through birth, adoption, or foster placement.
Caregiver Leave offers a fully paid 6-week leave of absence should you need
to care for a family member with a serious health condition.
Military Leave offers a fully paid 16-week leave of absence for service
members called to active duty.
All leave programs are administered by Lincoln Financial Group. Paid leave
benefits are offset by any state benefits you may be eligible for. In order to
learn more, visit our Paid Leave Programs page at dentsubenefitsplus.com.
Your eligibility for Short Term Disabilty and Paid Leaves of Absence may be different if you
work for the Merkle Response Management Group. For more information, call the
BenefitsPlus Solutions Center at 855.326.7870.
