Paid Leave
NISC is committed to encouraging employees to maintain a healthy and
balanced life. The paid leave policy is designed to provide lexibility in Paid Holidays
meeting each employee’s individual needs. Paid leave beneits apply to all New Year’s Day
full-time and regular part-time employees (pro-rated based on part-time Good Friday
percentage). Memorial Day
Independence Day
Paid Time Off Labor Day
Personal time may be used for any reason an employee chooses while in Thanksgiving Day
accordance with the policy and provided business needs are met. Accrued Friday after Thanksgiving
hours are deposited bi-monthly and must be used in 30-minute (0.5 hour) Christmas Eve Day
increments. There is a carry forward maximum of 160 hours, or 20 days Christmas Day
per year, with up to 40 hours being paid out at your regular rate for hours
over 160.
Service Year Annual Accrual Days
0–1 15
2–4 18
5–10 21
11+ 24
Life Event Leave
15 days (120 hours) per year is provided to all employees who incur an
extraordinary “life event.” These days are to be used in accordance with
the policy and provided business needs are met. Hours do not accrue or
carry over, but are provided at the beginning of each calendar year and
must be used in 30-minute (0.5 hour) increments.
Life event examples include the following.
Supplemental short term disability
FMLA leave
Parental (paternity) leave (5 days maximum)
Bereavement (maximum dependent on relationship)
