Short Term Disability
It’s important to be

unexpected. That’s Disability Insurance
why NISC offers
benefits which provide Your disability insurance is administered through Liberty Mutual. NISC
income protection to provides disability beneits at no cost to you in the event you become
you and your family. disabled from a non-work related injury or illness. This beneit is effective
after 6 months of employment.
Short Term Disability (STD)
If you meet the deinition of disability, you will be eligible to receive a
beneit equal to 66.67% of your weekly salary for up to 13 weeks. Your
STD beneits are subject to income and social security taxes, and may be
reduced by the amount of other income replacement beneits you receive
for the same disability.
Short term disability beneits may be supplemented with accrued paid
leave according to NISC policy.
