His Highness Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime
Minister of the UAE, passed Law No. (14) governing the Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai. This
new law defines the goals, obligations, and operational structure of the Supreme Legislation
Committee as well as those of its General Secretariat.
The statute defines basic guidelines controlling the Committee's activities as well as the
responsibilities of several government agencies regarding it. It also contains particular clauses
outlining the guidelines, policies, and practices for the Committee's operations, therefore guaranteeing
that all actions take place under a controlled environment.
This law mandates that the Supreme Legislation Committee and its General Secretariat run under well
defined, precisely defined set of rules. Establishing these rules by the Committee Chairman will help to
