Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai unveils updated strategic plan for 2024-2029

DUBAI, 16th October, 2024 (WAM) -- The Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai has unveiled its updated

strategic plan for 2024-2029, reaffirming its commitment to advancing the legislative framework, enhancing its
readiness for the future, and aligning with national development goals.

The updated strategic plan aims to foster an innovative legislative environment, solidifying Dubai’s position as

a leading legislative hub with a positive influence on all aspects of economic, social, and cultural life.
The new mission of the Supreme Legislation Committee focuses on improving the quality of legislation to

ensure alignment with global developments and future trends. It also aims to support a stable and innovative

legislative environment that accords utmost importance to transparency and the principle of assured justice.
This will be achieved through effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar, Secretary-General of the Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai, said the

updated strategic plan for 2024-2029 embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, by creating a proactive and innovative

legislative framework that responds to the present and anticipates the future, supporting Dubai’s development
journey.

He added that the plan offers a comprehensive structure guiding the Committee’s efforts to develop a

legislative system aligned with core values and institutional principles, in line with Dubai and the UAE’s
strategic objectives, while keeping pace with rapid changes across various sectors.

Furthermore, Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar noted that the Committee is intensifying efforts to implement the
strategic plan while adopting an approach that offers added flexibility and integrated legislative frameworks

that streamline operations while being supportive of societal needs and sustaining economic growth. All this

goes to reinforce Dubai’s status as a future-focused city and a preferred global destination to live, work, and
visit.

The 2024-2029 strategic plan focuses on evolving balanced and sustainable legislation, promoting legislative

awareness, fostering an exceptional institutional environment, achieving operational and service excellence,
and preparing institutions for the future while ensuring the effective implementation of laws.

With this updated strategy, the Supreme Legislation Committee also seeks to lay the groundwork for a

legislative framework that strikes a balance between economic growth and environmental protection, while
safeguarding individual rights and advancing the public interest.

The Committee remains committed to ensuring the effective enforcement of laws, recognising it as
fundamental to building a fair and secure society. It also continues to strengthen collaboration with
