Maktoum bin Mohammed: We are continuing to
work on developing a proactive legislative
environment

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy
Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Chairman of the
Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai, chaired its first meeting for the year 2024,
which witnessed a review of the committee’s achievements during the past year, and its
new strategy for the next five years. (2024 – 2029).
His Highness said: “The new strategy of the Supreme Legislation Committee in the next
five years translates the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,
may God protect him, by establishing a proactive, stable and innovative legislative
environment that achieves complete justice, transparency and equality. It operates
according to an institutional system that contributes to achieving sustainable
development for the Emirate of Dubai, and provides a fair, developed and effective
judiciary that enhances the global position that the emirate has achieved in the field of
legislation.”
His Highness added: “We will continue to work to develop a proactive legislative
environment that keeps pace with the present and anticipates the future, enhances the
sustainability of economic and social growth, and ensures the compatibility of the
legislative system in Dubai with the ambitious development strategies of the UAE, and
in a way that enhances the development experience in the emirate, which was built on
solid foundations, the most important of which are justice and sovereignty.” And respect
for the law.”
His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum appreciated the
efforts made by the committee over the past year, which resulted in legislation that
supported Dubai’s development process by developing legislation consistent with
international best practices that enhanced the ability of various sectors to work towards
achieving their strategic goals efficiently and competently.
His Highness directed the General Secretariat of the Supreme Legislation Committee to
continue working on developing robust legislation that provides a safe environment that
keeps pace with the requirements of the times, simulates the future, takes into account
