Ajman University (AU) Has Achieved A Major Milestone By Winning A Prestigious International Grant Worth US$410,300 From The
Internet Corporation For Assigned Names And Numbers (ICANN). This Award Was Granted During The First-Ever Cycle Of
ICANN’s Grant Program, Aimed At Supporting Global Initiatives Related To Internet Security And Infrastructure.

This Achievement Places Ajman University As The Only Recipient From The Middle East And One Of Just Five Universities
Worldwide To Receive This Highly Competitive Grant. It Also Confirms AU’s Position As A Leader In Digital Innovation And Research
Across The Region.

A Project Led By Prof. Rao Naveed Bin Rais
The Project That Earned The Grant Was Developed Under The Leadership Of Prof. Rao Naveed Bin Rais From The College Of
Engineering And Information Technology At Ajman University.
His Proposal Stood Out Among 247 Global Applications Submitted To ICANN. Out Of Those, Only 23 Were Selected—And Ajman
University Was One Of Only Three Recipients From All Of Asia, Highlighting The Global Recognition Of The University’s Work In
Cybersecurity And Digital Infrastructure.
