This partnership reflects a shared vision between public and private institutions to foster
innovation, support entrepreneurs, and strengthen the UAE’s position as a global hub for

intellectual property rights and creative inventions.

Goals of the Partnership

The collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and Tourism and Dubai Science Park
focuses on several key objectives:

Strengthening IP Protection: The partnership aims to provide legal and technical

support to companies operating within Dubai Science Park and other TECOM Group
districts, ensuring that creators and inventors have strong protection for their ideas and
inventions.

Supporting Innovation and Research: By working together, both organizations aim
to accelerate research and development activities, helping businesses turn their
innovative ideas into real products and services that contribute to the UAE’s

knowledge-based economy.

Enhancing Patent Registration: The MoU will help speed up the review and
commercialization of patent applications, both within the UAE and internationally.
This will increase the economic value of innovations created by UAE businesses and

individuals.

Promoting Public-Private Collaboration: The agreement emphasizes collaboration
between government institutions and private sector business districts. This synergy is

critical to supporting entrepreneurs and building a stronger innovation ecosystem.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Muaini emphasized the UAE’s strong commitment to innovation and
intellectual property protection. He stated that the Ministry of Economy and Tourism is
dedicated to building a national innovation ecosystem that safeguards the rights of creators
and inventors. He highlighted the importance of partnerships with leading business
districts that actively support innovation and entrepreneurship.

“The MoU with TECOM Group will provide legal and technical support to business
owners operating within TECOM Group’s business districts. It will also accelerate the
review and commercialization of patent applications locally and internationally, enhancing
the economic value of our national innovations,” said Dr. Al Muaini.
