A Landmark Partnership for IP Protection

The MoU was signed by Dr. Abdulrahman Al Muaini, Assistant Undersecretary for Intellectual Property
at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, and Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of
Dubai Science Park, Dubai Knowledge Park, and Dubai International Academic City.

This partnership will give legal and technical support to companies and entrepreneurs in Dubai Science
Park. They will receive tools to protect inventions, register patents, and secure intellectual property rights.

Dubai Science Park already hosts over 500 companies and more than 6,500 professionals in life sciences,
energy, and biotechnology. With this support, the UAE is creating a strong ecosystem that helps research-
driven businesses thrive.

Strengthening the UAE’s Innovation Ecosystem

According to Dr. Al Muaini, the agreement highlights the UAE’s commitment to building a strong
innovation framework. By supporting inventors and businesses, the Ministry is reinforcing its role in
protecting ideas and driving economic growth.

The main goals include:

Offering legal and technical help to innovators.

Speeding up patent applications and commercialization.

Increasing the economic value of national innovations.

Building a clear legislative system for IP protection.

This shows the government’s strategy to make the UAE a leader in patent protection and intellectual
property rights.

Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi stressed the importance of IP protection in promoting creativity and innovation.
