Fugro is proud to join a consortium of prominent marine research organizations as a partner of the
Ocean Pavilion at the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
COP28, convened under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC),
will take place from November 30th to December 12th. The event brings together delegates from
around the world, including heads of state and leaders from research, politics and business, to build
consensus and advance the climate commitments outlined in the Paris Agreement.
Now in its second year at COP, the Ocean Pavilion will once again be located in the “Blue Zone,” a
designated area for formal UNFCCC negotiations, panel discussions and lecture events. Co-led by the
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University
of California San Diego, the Ocean Pavilion will serve as a focal point for conference participants to
exchange ideas on the use of ocean science and solutions to address the climate crisis, underscoring its
critical role of the ocean in climate regulation.
