December 5: We are working to advance the net positive biodiversity impact of offshore renewable

energy. Organized by Fugro, Heine will introduce the session and participate as a panelist in a
discussion moderated by The Nature Conservancy, along with representatives from the UN Global

Compact Ocean Stewardship Coalition and Ørsted. The discussion will explore both private sector
innovations and public-private partnership perspectives, highlighting the challenges and opportunities
associated with the positive impacts of offshore renewable energy on biodiversity.

         Leadership thoughts

Commenting on Fugro’s role at COP28, Heine said: “As a leading member of the ocean economy, our
involvement at COP28 is both a privilege and a responsibility.” By actively participating in these

global discussions, we want to drive positive change, not just within our organization , but in the
industries in which we operate and in the regions in which we operate. For us, sustainability is not just
a concept; It’s a fundamental part of our identity.”

David Millar, Government Accounts Director at Fugro, added: “Fugro is deeply committed to
advancing marine science for a safe and livable world, delivering geospatial solutions that support

science-based action and informed policy decisions.” Our work goes beyond data and technology; It’s
about protecting our oceans, understanding their complexity and working hand in hand with global

partners to ensure a sustainable future for our planet.”

         Further COP28 activities

Fugro will take part in several other COP28 activities. For Heine, that includes a TED Talk-style
Ocean Climate Spotlight on December 5th at the Ocean Decade + OceanX Pavilion, also located in

the “Blue Zone.” Heine’s talk will highlight the critical role of industry in the ocean decade and
highlight the importance of data sharing.
