As part of the broader Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, Bahrain’s Logistics Services
Sector Strategy aims to position the Kingdom as a leading global logistics hub. This
strategic plan leverages Bahrain’s geographic location and advanced infrastructure to

enhance its competitiveness in the global logistics market.

        Key objectives

Global ranking: Aim to position Bahrain among the top 20 logistics hubs globally by

          2030.

Economic contribution: Increase the logistics sector’s contribution to the national
          GDP to 10%.

Capacity expansion: Triple the air freight capacity and double sea freight volumes by

        Key initiatives

Global sea-to-air hub: Bahrain launched the fastest multimodal logistics hub in the

region, reducing the lead time for transshipments to just two hours and cutting costs

by up to 40%. This hub integrates Bahrain International Airport and Khalifa bin

Salman Port, offering an efficient sea-air transhipment service attractive to global

Infrastructure development: The Strategic Projects Plan (SPP) includes significant

infrastructure projects, such as the 109-km electric metro network to improve urban

connectivity and the King Hamad Causeway to enhance links with Saudi Arabia. These

projects are expected to significantly boost Bahrain’s logistics capabilities.

Regulatory enhancements: Implementing a new maritime law and advanced digital

customs systems like Ofoq 2 to streamline operations and improve efficiency. These
regulatory improvements aim to facilitate trade and reduce processing times at ports.

Sustainability focus: Emphasis on green logistics and sustainable practices, including
