        Dubai announces flexible

        working policy during

        Ramadan

        Public sector workers take note

Dubai has announced that it will be rolling out a policy of flexible hours and remote work for the public
        sector during Ramadan.

Public sector workers will have the flexibility to work from home and work a different schedule during
        the month.

Ramadan is likely to begin on Saturday March 1 according to the latest moon sighting prediction.

The announcement, made on Wednesday February 26, means that Dubai government employees can
work remotely for the equivalent of two days per week.

And the flexible hours policy allows workers to work for three hours per day provided that the
employee completes five-and-a-half hours of work from Monday to Thursday and three hours of work
        on Friday.

The policy applies to those who work for government agencies and is available to those whose work
requirements, work conditions and tasks allow them to be flexible.

The policy follows on from the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources that granted
public sector workers a reduced schedule throughout Ramadan.

This year, government employees will work from 9am until 2.30pm from Monday to Thursday and from
        9am until noon on Fridays.

The authority said that ministries and federal agencies are allowed to continue to work flexible or
remote schedules during Ramadan. And now Dubai has confirmed the schedule.
