Director-General of the FDF Mariam Al Rumaithi said that, “The ‘Let Us Protect Our Elders with Love’ guide is designed

by combining diverse expertise and knowledge, and it stands as an educational reference that sheds light on
unintentionally harmful emotional behaviors that may negatively impact the peaceful lives of elderly people. Here, we
are not only launching a guide but also delivering a sincere message of love and gratitude. Today, we are reaffirming
our pledge to those who illuminated our paths and fostering a culture of empathy and appreciation across every

home and institution.”
Al Rumaithi further stressed that the guide is in line with the UAE’s leadership vision, led by President His Highness
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who advocates for instilling loyalty and honoring the nation’s senior

contributors. The Director General expressed heartfelt gratitude to HH Sheikha Fatima, recognizing her persistent
dedication to caring for elders and embedding values of empathy and respect within Emirati society.

The guide will act as a humanitarian tool that sheds light on subtle emotional harms and offers constructive
alternatives to foster inclusive, respectful, and emotionally nurturing environments for older adults, Al Rumaithi noted.
The guide aligns with national values and seeks to enhance the psychological well-being of seniors while raising
awareness about the unintended impact of some well-meaning behaviors.
