6/10/25, 2:47 PM Spain and the United Arab Emirates commit to strengthening trade and investment relations
Chamber of Commerce of Spain for the creation of a UAE-Spain Joint Business Council, signed
        on April 7, 2025.

This initiative will serve as a platform for dialogue and collaboration between private sector
stakeholders in both countries. The Council will also promote awareness of bilateral business

opportunities, foster the formation of partnerships, and contribute to the creation of a favorable

        business climate.

THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES ENCOURAGES SPANISH COMPANIES TO INVEST

During the business meeting—organized by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce together with
the Secretary of State for Trade through ICEX Spain Export and Investment and CEOE—

Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, encouraged large
Spanish companies to invest in his country.

"We are a nation that helps companies continue to expand. As companies, you start in Spain
and can scale in the Emirates," he stated at the business meeting.

The minister explained that in light of the climate crisis and the need to reduce greenhouse

gases, they have developed an economic plan based on four points: the creation of a green

industrial zone, powered by renewable energy to develop sustainable products; the approval of
green industrial properties, which can be authorized in just three months; the sustainable

processing of critical minerals, such as cobalt, copper, lithium, and aluminum; and the

        development of green data services.

The minister also noted that they are working with the European Union to develop bilateral

agreements and relations that allow for free trade and eliminate borders. "We hope that
negotiations will begin very soon to develop economic partnership agreements."

He also noted that both the UAE and the EU share a vision: "We must look to globalization and

revitalize businesses, create jobs in our countries, and look toward more complex and

        developed work."
