A Storied Legacy: From Harvey S. Firestone to a Global Icon

Harvey S. Firestone founded the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in
Akron, Ohio, on August 3, 1900.

He believed business success came from offering “extra quality and extra
value at no extra cost.” This belief propelled Firestone to prominence in
        American infrastructure and industry.

The company launched innovations like “Ship By Truck” and the first
pneumatic tractor tire. These achievements revolutionized how Americans
        moved and worked.

        Continued Growth and Enduring Impact

After Harvey Firestone’s death in 1938, the company expanded globally while
        helping American drivers every day.

In 1988, Firestone merged with Bridgestone to form one of the world’s largest
        tire and rubber companies.

The brand remained iconic, with over 75 Indianapolis 500 wins and popular
        products like Destination tires.
