Test Prep Stew: Microwave or Crock Pot
Just how effective is reviewing for high stakes test the few weeks prior to taking the test? In
this presentation, educators will make a mindset shift for developing strategies to
implementing year-long test prep. There will be a new appreciation for establishing
instructional practices focused on the benefits of slow cooking versus microwaving
instruction.

Fraction Tidbits for Your Toolkit
Build a conceptual understanding of fractions and empower your students by teaching through
games and other engaging activities. For example, have you thought about having students
count by fractions instead of whole numbers? How important is learning how to place fractions
on a number line? Collaborate with colleagues through playing games and engaging in other
hands-on learning while discussing how to build precision with fractions for your students.
