Lady of the Lake 1880s indigo, turkey red, chrome yellow. eBay purchase 2013. 65½"x75" Fabric: Cotton.
Batting: Thin. Backing: Cotton, pale blue and white striped print. Edge: The dark blue border is brought
to the back and caught by hand, but also top-stitched by machine ¼" inside the edge. Piecing: By machine.
Quilting: By hand in a 1" grid, 8 stitches to the inch. Condition: Acceptable. There is a line of machine
zig-zag stitching down the middle on the front, sewed to a strip of fabric on the back that must serve to
pull separating seams together, and a white patch on an indigo triangle. These condition issues were not
disclosed before sale. Comment: The name comes from Arthurian legend and Sir Walter Scott.
