First up was the National Sickle Cell Walk With the
Stars. The August 27th walk, hosted by Sickle Cell Dis-
ease Association of America, took place at the Canton
Waterfront Park in Baltimore. The walk is a regular
event for the chapter, which donated $250 to the event.
Next up, the Top Ladies and Top Teens gathered on
the National Mall on September 10th for the 10th An-
nual Stomp Out Sickle Cell (SOS) Walk. The 5K is orga-
nized by Faces of Our Children and the Howard Uni-
versity Center for Sickle Cell Disease. The chapter is
typically one of the largest groups to participate in the
SOS walk, and this year was no different, with 22 Top
Ladies and Top Teens participating.
