CHAPTER OPERATIONS THE TLOD WAY: THIS IS HOW WE DO IT!

The best way for your chapter to be an effective chapter is for it to function according to the rules, guidelines,
practices and concepts as outlined in the TLOD governance documents. This series of workshops will guide you
through everything that you need to know to operate according to TLOD custom and culture. This is perfect for
the new members who come in not knowing about the culture of TLOD. This allows them to start out on the
right foot. It is also perfect for the seasoned member who may have, over the years, gotten her organizations in-
termingled. There is only one way to operate TLOD and that is the TLOD Way! This is how we do it!

TTA ADVISORS INSTITUTE

This workshop will continue to follow the interactive format and cover A-Z what is needed to be an effective
TTA Advisor. Since Top Teens of America is our lifeline, membership recruitment will be an additional focus.
The many activities, initiatives, and opportunities that are offered to the Teens will be discussed in detail and best
practices will be shared.

FINANCIAL PROCEDURES THE TLOD WAY

This workshop will go into the roles of your financial officers, completion of forms, use of financial software, au-
dits, etc. This is a must for financial officers and those aspiring to be a financial officer.

RUNNING FOR OFFICE: THE WHO, WHAT, WHY AND HOW, AS WELL AS DO'S AND
DON'TS

This workshop is a must for the member who is looking to take on a leadership role as an officer. Through the
information provided, you will be able to determine whether you have what it takes to run for office and once that
is determined, you will be given tips to chart your course. This workshop will help you answer these important
questions:
• Why am I running?
• What do I bring to the office?
• What office best suits my skill set?
• Do I need a mentor? If so, how do I choose one?
• Once I decide to run, what are my next steps?
• What steps should I take in letting it be known that I want to move up?
