New Section: Guidelines and Awards
Scholarship Distribution

Once a scholarship is awarded, National, Area or the Chapter should prepare a scholarship letter indicating the
requirements for obtaining the financial award. Requirements and guidelines for check distribution can be de-
fined by the National, Area or chapter scholarship committee. Awards cannot be distributed without proof of
enrollment in a college, technical program or other post High School learning. For the armed forces, proof of
enlistment is acceptable. Checks should not be distributed without obtaining a Social Security number from the
student for any award amount over $600.00. The student is responsible for income reporting to the IRS or other
government agencies to the extent of the law.

As determined by the National, Area or Chapter scholarship committee awards can be given directly to the stu-
dent or to the school. *End of Recommendations*
