Fun Night. Las Vegas Glitz/National President's Reception/Fun Night: TLOD's Got Talent. As you
can tell from the title, a lot was going on and it did not disappoint. The Starlight Chapter provided beautiful
feathered, gowned and leggy showgirls who gave us a taste of old-fashioned Las Vegas Glitz. This was followed
by the Talent Show which was, as usual, a trove of gems. Top Ladies has no shortage of talent and hams. We
had approximately 8 acts and they were all good. I felt sorry for the judges because, it had to have been hard try-
ing to decide the winners. It was exciting because everyone was so different, entertaining and talented. I love
these shows! The winners won monetary awards and they were:
• 1st Place - Lord Cecil Peery
• 2nd Place - Lady Velda Hunter
• 3rd Place - Ladies Nichole Dodd and Kathy Wilson

Again, the food was wonderful! And everyone had a great time, especially Lord Cecil's instantaneous backup sing-
ers and dancers who also made it "rain" for him. I think he made about $6.00.

Saturday, September 29, 2018, Plenary Session I
State of the Organization. The National President stated that all is well with TLOD. We are financially sound
and our programs are moving ahead as planned. She chose not to go into too much detail because her Commit-
tee Chairmen would be providing detailed information. She announced that there were four new scholarships
that will be awarded at Syn-Lod. They are being provided by:

Pastor Le'Zaire Reese, former TTA President
    Je'Caryous Johnson Foundation, former Teen
    The Anna Kirksey Family
    Sheraton Atlanta Hotel

She thanked the body for their condolences, love and concern during Lord Barry's illness and transition. She
promised that she would be her usual thorough self at the upcoming conferences.

Officers and Committee Reports were given. Some highlights:

• Thanks to Ladies Mattie Stanton and Melody Coleman, Chairman and Co-Chairman of the Historian
Council, we made history and are listed in Wikipedia. There are a lot of rules and regulations that need to be
followed in order for us to get more info on the site. Hopefully, we can meet some of that criteria and get
    additional info published.

• The TTA Leadership Academy was a huge success!! Thanks to Lady Carmen Kirksey, Academy Dean and
her Team for providing an enlightening and useful experience to our Teens.

• The Silent Auction raised approximately $1600. Thanks to Lady Delores Clark and her Team for turning
lemons into lemonade. One minute she had nothing, then the next minute she had $1600.00. Thanks to all
    who donated.

• Approximately $300 in gift cards were given as door prizes. Thanks to Lady Shwanda Warner and her
helpers for selling TLOD merchandise. We had more but UPS was having a bad day, thus we did too. We
    will make up for it.

• Lady Rose Coker, owner of Magnolia & Ivy, donated $500 from her sale of the TLOD blazers. Thank You
    Lady Rose.

A Celebration of Life: Diabetes and You (A Dialogue re Management and Prevention)
As usual, the luncheon was one of the highlights of the conference. The keynote speaker was Dr. Chard Bubb,
Endocrinologist, who was well-versed in Diabetes Prevention and Management and he talked freely about what
you should and should not do in the management of diabetes. He was very thorough and the audience was truly
engaged. He has agreed to do a workshop at Syn-Lod. Following him was Ellen Neylon, APRN, of the
Palm Research Center. She talked about clinical trials in the management and prevention of diabetes. Her talk
was very relevant and timely. The presenters were paired up perfectly. Again, the food was excellent.
