Ladies, as you see, there was something for everyone. Since 2019 is an election year, we wanted to make sure that
all helpful and necessary information for succession planning was available. I think we did a good job. A big hug
and thank you to Lady Emily J. Jones, Chairman of the Leadership Development and Succession Planning
Committee and her team: Ladies Barbara Travis, Anita Luster, Carrie Howard, Betty Edwards and Stepha-
nie Dunn.

From all indications and comments, the "Chapter Operations the TLOD Way: This is How We Do It" Sessions
were a big hit and very much needed. We will continue to have these sessions to help our membership in their
quest for knowledge, engagement, inclusion and success. The sessions were videotaped and will be posted on the
website as soon as they are edited and ready for viewing.

Opening Session
A-TEAAM. At the Opening Session, Dr. Juanita Sims-Doty, Chairman, JSD Foundation and Lady Peggy
Lewis LeCompte, A-TEAAM Coordinator gave an overview of the historic Inaugural Summit that took place in
Jackson, Mississippi in June. Dr. Doty thanked TLOD, Inc. for their support in providing nine chapters that op-
erated A-TEAAMs and presented the National President with a courtesy check in the amount of $50,000.00 rep-
resenting the funds that the Foundation provided to get the TLOD sponsored A-TEAAMS to Jackson. All ex-
penses were paid by the Foundation. She also lauded former TTA National President, Pastor Le'Zaire Reese
and former Area I TTA President, Josef Sorrells, for their roles that they played in the conference. They served
as speaker, moderator and facilitator. Much thanks to the Medgar Evers and Doty Foundations for their vision
and support, and to Lady Peggy Lewis LeCompte, Coordinator and Lady Audrie L. Lawton, Consultant for
keeping all the balls in the air and making us proud to be a part of such a wonderful program.

UNCF. Mr. Harry Fulmore, UNCF Regional Development Director - Workplace, made a presentation and ap-
peal about the Workplace Initiative. He provided more detailed information and thanked the TLOD members
who had already gone out to designated workplaces and made presentations on UNCF's behalf. Kudos to those
ladies. We are hoping to expand this partnership as we go out in the communities and assist in getting people to
donate through their workplaces to UNCF. Remember, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste," and we want to
make sure that as many youth as possible have an opportunity to attend college, especially an HBCU.

March of Dimes/Healthy Choices. Lady Jacqui Carter, Chairman, reported that approximately $31,000 was
raised for MOD. Kudos!

St. Jude/Blessing in a Backpack Initiative. Lady Mavis Merritt, Chairman, reported that $35,000+ was
raised for St. Jude. To date, over $7,000 has been raised in memory of Lord Barry M. Woldman, Lord of Lady
Drema Lee Woldman. Those donations were included with the TTA St. Jude Walk total.

Legislative Action/When We All Vote. A video featuring former first Lady Michelle Obama was screened and
an appeal for When We All Vote was made by the Chairman of the National President's Council, Lady Anita
Luster. It was followed by a resolution from Lady Alna Brown, Resolutions Chairman, pledging TLODs com-
mitment to getting out the vote.

Franchelle Boswell Foundation. Lady Jackie Pope, President of the Franchelle Boswell Foundation and the
National Fundraising Chair, presented a check in the amount of $10,000 to the National President to be used for
Top Teens of America. The Foundation received a grant from the Anthony Hall Foundation for $50,000 and
donated $10,000 of that sum to TTA. Kudos and thanks to Lady Jackie and the Boswell Foundation.

Invitation to Syn-Lod 2019. Lady Kala Walton, Syn-Lod Chairman and the Atlanta Peachtree, North Atlan-
ta and NewRock Chapters invited the members of Parliamen-Top to Atlanta, Georgia, June 26 - July 2, 2018 at
the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel in downtown Atlanta as TLOD celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Top Teens of
America.
