Syn-Lod Elections – Candidate Eligibility Requirements

Syn-Lod Elections – Elections for National officers shall be held during the Syn-Lod year.
1. A candidate for National President shall be an active member of TLOD for at least five (5) years
and must have:
• served as a National officer;
• attended at least two Syn-Lods;
• served as a member of Parliamen-Top for three years within the last five (5) years.
2. A candidate for National Area Director shall be an active member of TLOD for at least five (5)
years and must:
• have attended at least two Syn-Lods prior to her candidacy;
• have attended at least three Area Conferences in five (5) years;
• be an active member within the local chapter;
• be verified financial by the Area and National Financial Secretaries;
• have been a chapter president.
3. Only two members from a given chapter shall seek to be elected as a National officer during the
same election.
4. A candidate for National Top Teens of America Director shall have been an Area TTA Advisor.
5. A candidate for National Financial Secretary or National Treasurer, must:
• have been an active member of TLOD for at least five (5) years;
• have documented evidence of financial experience;
• be computer literate with a working knowledge of Excel or other current comparable
computer financial software.
6. A candidate for National office shall have been an active member in good standing for at least
five (5) years.

Article II Elections and Tenure, Sections 3 & 4 – Section 3. officers elected or appointed shall serve
for a term of two years or until their successors are duly elected and installed.
Section 4. Except as otherwise provided, no member of the National Board (Parliamen-Top) shall be
eligible to serve more than two (2) consecutive terms or a maximum of four years in the office to which
she has been elected.
