48th Area One Leadership Conference

Welcome To Houston

National Area One Director, Lady Harnell Williams, convened the 48th Area One Leadership Conference, Febru-
ary 28, 2019 through March 3, 2019, at the Marriott Houston Westchase, in Houston, Texas where the Southwest
Cluster chapters which are: Baytown, Houston, Humble Intercontinental, Lake Houston, Missouri City, Prairie
View, Spring-Cypress, Suburban Bayou City, Sugar Valley, and the Area One Executive Board showcased the con-
ference theme Top Ladies of Distinction and Top Teens of America: Engaging in the Enhancement of Programs that Invest in the
Community through Volunteer Service and the national theme Investing in V.A.L.U.E.S. that Support, Enhance and Sustain,
in a variety of ways throughout the conference.

Congratulations are extended to Area One’s newest chapter, Neches River at Beaumont Chapter! The chapter
was chartered February 2, 2019, with Lady Alice Ramsey, as the Neches River at Beaumont Chapter Organizer and
11th National Area One Director. The Neches River Chapter President is Lady Tiffany Williams.

The main focus of the 48th Area One Leadership Conference was to provide conference level mentoring, training,
inclusion and participation of the Area One TLOD and TTA officers to include the Administrative Assistants un-
der the direction of Lady Jacqueline Carter and Lady Barbara Wooten. The intent of this focus was to provide
leadership experiences for Teens to share with their chapters. Lady Judith Washington, Membership/Induction
Chair, along with Lady Orethann Price, Membership/Induction Co-Chair orchestrated the induction of nine new
Ladies. Area One was excited to induct:

• Lady Kathryn Billings Sims, Trinity West

Area One Chaplain, Lady Shwanda Warner, conducted the memorial service for the Ladies and Teens listed who
transitioned from this life to a life with the Lord. It is with deep sympathy that Area One memorialized the Ladies
and Teens at this 48th Area One Leadership Conference.
