The Area Director’s Gala was one of the culminating events of the 48th Area One Conference. Mr. & Miss Top
Teens made their stunning debut when they curtsied, bowed and waltzed during the gala under the direction of
Lady Orethann Price, Dallas Chapter. Lords awards were presented for their outstanding service to TLOD and
TTA and participation in various tournaments. Eight tablets, which were used during the elections, were given to
Teens at the Gala whose names were drawn from all Teens who attended all sessions of the 48th Area One Leader-
ship Conference.

The final event for the 48th was the Praise, Pray and Depart, conducted by Area One TLOD Chaplain, Lady
Shwanda Warner and TTA Chaplain Teen Marcus Sanders. Past National TTA President and Past Houston Chap-
ter TTA President, Minister Robert L. Oten, brought soul stirring words of encouragement during the service.
The TTA Choir, under the direction of Lady Shelia Maddox, Area One Music Chair, blessed the assemblage with
several soul-stirring gospel songs. Lady Shwanda Warner and Teen Marcus Sanders closed out the Praise, Pray
and Depart with prayer and remarks.
