Walking with Purpose
The Teens of Central Virginia Chapter have started out the year in a great fashion. The teens have completed two service
projects thus far. Participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and Walk to End Alzheimer’s, over $350 was
raised for two very important causes. The weather was cold for both walks, but the Central Virginia teens bundled up and
walked six miles within a two-week span. Focusing on healthy living while walking with a purpose, the teens have definitely
taken the initiative to a most productive first full year in existence.
The Central Virginia chapter is so proud of the First Vice-President, Teen Jade Pettaway, for being appointed Area II Sickle
Cell Anemia Chair. Teen Jade states, “I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to serve as the Sickle Cell Anemia
Chair. I am ready to take on and fulfill my duty in this position in every way.”
The next event for the Top Teens of Central Virginia chapter will take place on November 17, 2018. The teens will be feeding
the homeless with Hasthtag(#)LunchbagRVA, feeding a different kind of hunger. By providing a nourishing meal and a love
note to a person in need.
The Top Teens of Central Virginia are poised to serve and are working diligently to uphold the TTA motto, “Participation is
our Foundation as Leaders of Tomorrow.”
