“The Benefits of Empowerment”
What does the mind say about learning the benefits of Empowerment when seen through the eyes of
engaging teenagers?
October 13, 2018, Dale City Top
Teens held their monthly chapter
meeting at Potomac Library and
were able to gain knowledge on
the benefits of empowerment
from Lady Robin Butler. The
teens sat and heard of ways and
ideas they could use in their everyday
life as well as in their Top Teen
program. They were captivated and
engaged, their minds were being
enlightened as she deposited small
nuggets of confidence
within them as they felt taller after
the presentation.
Lady Robin introduced the
teens to new ideas on what
empowerment means to them.
Empowerment for anyone means
to take control of their
circumstances and achieve their
own goals in their personal and
working life. It’s becoming more
aware of their strengths and
weaknesses and therefore being
better equipped to deal with
problems and achieve goals.
As Lady Robin went around the
room speaking to the teens on the
rises and falls of leadership as it relates to empowerment, each teen spoke on ways they could see how
empowerment is a benefit in their leadership skills in their personal lives, school environments, and social
settings such as church or community programs.
