Top Teen in The News
Teen Malcolm Isaiah Anderson
wins 1st Place National Scholarship
Teen Malcolm Anderson joined Southern Maryland Chapter (SMC)
of Waldorf Maryland in June 2015. He was recognized as Mr. Top
Teen for SMC in 2016 and 2017. As Mr. Top Teen, he represented SMC
at Area II and Syn-Lod conferences in 2017. He also represented SMC
as a delegate at 2017 Syn-Lod. For 2017-2018, he served as the
Community Partnership Chair for Area II.
In May 2018, Teen Malcolm graduated as a scholar from North
Point High School with Summa Cum Laude. As a scholar student,
he received awards for completing four years of Math and Science and
a Scholar Course of Study. In addition, he received awards for being in the National Honor Society and a Maryland Scholar.
In the 9th grade, Teen Malcolm was awarded an Academic Letter and from 10th through 12th grades, he received Academic
Pins. Teen Malcolm was recognized for perfect attendance in grades 10 through 12. In addition to receiving his high school
diploma, Teen Malcolm was awarded a Charles County Certificate of Merit.
In 2018, Teen Malcolm received the following scholarships: Grand Prize Winner – Top Ladies of Distinction Inc - National
Scholarship, 1st Place Top Teens of America, Southern Maryland Chapter, 2nd Place Top Ladies of Distinction Area II
Academic Scholarship; Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Sigma Alpha Lambda Chapter 2018 Academic Scholarship, and two
State scholarships by The Maryland Higher Education Commission for the 2018-2019 academic year.
In August 2018, Teen Malcolm started his studies in computer science at University of Maryland – College Park. As a
computer scientist, he plans to develop technologies that will assist the military in protecting the country from cyber treats,
foreign and domestic.
