40th Syn-Lod Event Summary
St. Louis, MO
June 23-June 29, 2017
Highlights
Informative Institutes and Leadership Workshops were held. Approximately 400
Ladies were in attendance and each Institute and Workshop was well received.
Note: At P-Top, no workshops will take place in the evening. A house does
not have to fall in on me. Thanks to all of the presenters, recorders and
facilitators who took part. A special thanks to Lady Emily Jones, Leadership,
Development, and Succession Planning (LDSP) Coordinator and Lady Eddie Lee
Marsh, External Workshops Coordinator and their Teams. Great job!!!!
The National President was interviewed on a local TV station and because of the
App, everyone knew before, during and after, and because of Top Ladies, it went
viral. I received congratulations from Chapters all over before I got back to the
hotel from the radio station. My daughter, who lives in Houston, sent me an email
with a copy of the link while I was in the car on my way back to the hotel. TLOD
news travels fast!!!! Thanks to Lady Kimberly Beck, President of the St. Louis
Chapter for facilitating the interview.
There were 22 Vendors along with a ton of items to choose from. Membership
Services was also a vendor and sold over $6,000.00 in merchandise. Kudos to
Ladies Shwanda Warner, Wanda Johnson and Vanessa Broussard.
The Silent Auction raised approximately $2,000.00 and all items not sold were
donated to Dress for Success. Kudos to Lady Delores Clark and her committee.
Thanks to Ladies Sharon Beard, Myra Nelson and Nichole Dodd who led the
Community Beautification Walks.
Thanks to all who participated in the A-TEAAM training. We are proud of our
collaboration with the Myrlie and Medgar Evers Foundation and the Doty Sims
Foundation for continuing to work with us in promoting this much needed program
for our African American males. Kudos to Ladies Audrie Lawton, Peggy Lewis
LeCompte and Drs. Juanita Sims Doty and Karla McCullough for their
leadership in this endeavor.
Kudos to the South Cluster for a jazzy, fun-filled host night - "Jammin' in the STL."
Ladies came out in their Roaring 20's and Speakeasy costumes and danced to the
soulful sounds of the band, ate good food and had many laughs as the ladies/lords
strutted their stuff.
